Coming up: Grade I winners Evening Jewel, Harmonious, and Check the Label head up a field of eight in the Grade I, $400,000 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup going 11⁄8 miles on the Keeneland turf Saturday. Evening Jewel is unbeaten in three starts since being switched to the turf and enters off a win over Harmonious in the Grade I Del Mar Oaks.
■ Mimi's Bling overhauled pace-setter Canadian Ballet in deep stretch to win the $100,000 Buffalo Trace Franklin County for fillies and mares by a half-length at odds of 33-1. Mimi's Bling covered 5½ furlongs on a firm turf course in 1:03.48 to improve her career record to 10-3-3-1 with earnings of $115,494. Mimi's Bling is a 3-year-old Kentucky-bred Bernstein filly out of the Meadowlake mare Meadow Oaks.
■ The streak continues for trainer Rusty Arnold. The victory by Devil Train in Thursday's fourth race continued an amazing run for the 55-year-old Lexington resident. Arnold has saddled at least one winner at every Keeneland meeting since 1986 with the exception of one in the late 1980s when he did not start a horse.
