Racing great Zenyatta will be arriving in the Bluegrass on Dec. 6, Lane's End Farm and her owners, Jerry and Ann Moss, announced Monday.
Zenyatta is scheduled to land at Blue Grass Airport about 3:45 p.m., then be taken by van to Keeneland, where she will be paraded in the paddock at 4:15 p.m. Fans are invited to see the Eclipse Award winner at Keeneland before she heads to Lane's End Farm to become a broodmare and retires from public life.
The Mosses have not announced plans for breeding. Future updates on Zenyatta will be posted on her Web site, zenyatta.com, and on lanesend.com.
Zenyatta won 19 out of 20 starts and more than $7.3 million, including the 2008 Breeders' Cup Ladies Classic and the 2009 Breeders' Cup Classic. She lost the 2010 Breeders' Cup Classic at Churchill Downs last month by a nose to Blame.
