John Chandler's homebred Joshua Reynolds rallied from off the pace to win Wednesday afternoon's $58,000 feature allowance race for 4-year-olds and up by a neck over Colonialism. Trained by Ralph Nicks and ridden by Robby Albarado, Joshua Reynolds was next to last in the field of 11 leaving the backstretch. Entering the stretch six wide for clear sailing, Joshua Reynolds collared Colonialism at the sixteenth pole and drew clear in the final few yards.
■ Brilliant Speed, one of 12 horses entered in Saturday's Grade I Toyota Blue Grass Stakes, was on the track for the first time at Keeneland on Wednesday, jogging under Dan Blacker, assistant to trainer Tom Albertrani. Blacker also was aboard West Point Thoroughbreds' King Congie for a jog. Team Valor International's Crimson China galloped 1½ miles under Leo Molina and Willcox Inn galloped the same distance under Freddy Alvarado.
