Right-hander Levi Maxwell allowed two runs on seven hits in six innings as Kannapolis beat the visiting Lexington Legends 5-2 on Friday night.
Maxwell, making his fourth start for Kannapolis, gave up an RBI double to Eric Taylor in the first and a solo homer to Craig Corrado in the third inning as the Legends took a 2-0 lead.
Never miss a local story.
But Maxwell and relievers Leroy Hunt and Henry Mabee kept the Legends from scoring the rest of the night, despite allowing 10 hits – three more than Lexington pitchers allowed.
Luis Pardo took the loss after allowing two runs in the sixth inning.
