The Lexington Legends kept up their winning ways Thursday, hitting four home runs in a 12-4 win over the Suns in Hagerstown, Md.
The Legends started the scoring early on Brian Pellegrini's two-run homer with one out in the first inning.
Never miss a local story.
Then, they kept up the onslaught with homers from Max Sapp in the second inning, Kyle Miller in the third and Eric Taylor in the fourth.
Taylor's shot made it 7-0. Lexington has homered in each of its last five games.
The Legends tacked on a run in the seventh, and Jonathan Fixler drove in two on a double to left field to spark a four-run ninth.
Anthony Bello picked up the win for Lexington, giving up six hits and three earned runs in 61⁄3. Hagerstown starter Terrence Engles made it through just 22⁄3 innings and suffered the loss.
The Legends have won four straight and 11 of 13 after ending a six-game skid on July 18 and have clawed their way into fifth in the South Atlantic League's Northern Division for the second half.
