Ross Seaton pitched a complete-game three hitter and the Lexington Legends beat the Augusta GreenJackets 5-0 Monday night at Applebee's Park.
Brian Pellegrini hit a three-run homer in the first inning for the Legends, who earned a split of the four-game series.
The victory allowed the Legends to stay in fourth place in the South Atlantic League Southern Division.
It was the Legends' first shutout of the season and Seaton's first complete game. It was also the first nine-inning complete game of the SAL season. Robert Bono has Lexington's other complete game in 2009.
Never miss a local story.
Seaton (6-4), a 19-year-old right-hander from Sugar Land, Texas, struck out six and didn't walk a batter in lowering his ERA to 2.44.
After a walk and an Augusta error put runners at first and second with one out in the bottom of the first, Pellegrini gave Seaton all the support he needed with a blast over the left-field bleachers, his fourth homer of the season.
The Legends added a run in the third on a throwing error by the catcher and another in the sixth on a single by Ronald Ramirez.
Lexington managed only six hits in the game that took just 2:07.
