Another game, another shutout. Only this time the Lexington Legends were the victims.
Nathan Baker and two relievers combined to hold the Legends to four hits — all singles — and the West Virginia Power beat Lexington 3-0 Monday night in the opener of a four-game series in Charleston, W.Va.
The Legends were coming off a 6-0 win over the Greensboro Grasshoppers on Sunday.
The Power had only five hits of their own. Both teams combined to leave 16 runners on base and go 1-for-18 with runners in scoring position.
Jiovanni Mier went 2-for-4 for the Legends. Jose Altuve had a hit and a walk and stole his 14th base of the season.
Legends starter Juan Minaya (0-6) allowed four hits and three earned runs in 52⁄3 innings
Baker (3-3) gave up three hits and walked three.
