Anthony Hewitt led off the bottom of the ninth with a home run off Legends closer Kirk Clark, and Jiwan James followed three batters later with a two-run shot to give the Lakewood BlueClaws a 5-3 victory Monday night at Applebee's Park.
The loss ended the Legends' winning streak at five games.
Lexington had taken a 3-2 lead in the eighth inning on singles by J.D. Martinez and Aaron Bray, a walk to Jonathan Meyer and a sacrifice fly by Rene Garcia. Garcia led Lexington with three hits.
Clark (2-1) ended with the blown save and the loss after up giving up three earned runs on two hits and a walk in a third of an inning.
Altuve player of week
Jose Altuve made the most of a four-game week, hitting .368 with three home runs and seven RBI, and was named the South Atlantic League's player of the week. The Legends were off on Wednesday and Sunday, and Altuve sat out Friday's game.
