Back-to-back homers by Emilio King and Ben Orloff in the seventh inning erased a one-run Hagerstown lead, and the Lexington Legends went on to an 8-6 victory Monday night at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.
The Legends built an early 5-1 lead, but Hagerstown took the lead with a five-run fifth inning that was capped by a grand slam by Jason Martinson. The Legends won two out of three in the series and will begin a three-game series in Charleston, S.C. Wednesday night.
Lexington starter Alex Sogard struck out eight over 41⁄3 innings but was chased in the fifth after allowing a leadoff homer to Michael Taylor and loading the bases with one out. Jason Chowning (3-2) replaced him and immediately gave up Martinson's slam.
Lexington's seventh-inning rally began with two outs and the bases empty. Ben Heath walked, and King homered to right field, putting the Legends back in front 7-6. Ben Orloff followed with his first home run of the year.
