The Savannah Sand Gnats came from behind Monday night to get their third straight win over the Lexington Legends, 5-4 in Savannah, Ga.
The Legends were up 4-2 in the sixth. But the Sand Gnats scored three runs in their half, including the tiebreaker on an error charged to Lexington first baseman Tyler Burnett.
Legends starter Michael Foltynewicz left in the sixth with no outs and runners at second and third.
Jason Chowning replaced him and struck out his first batter. But a single by Albert Cordero scored both runners to tie the game. The next batter grounded out, but then Joe Bonfe reached after a missed catch by Burnett on a throw from third, scoring Cordero.
The Legends, who have now lost five of six games, managed just two singles the rest of the way. Chowning (3-3) was charged with his third blown save of the season.
The Legends scored two runs with two out in the first inning when Mike Kvasnicka doubled to right-center field, scoring Delino DeShields and Jay Austin. Kvasnicka singled home another run in the third for his 43rd RBI this year. He's on an eight-game hitting streak.
