The Lexington Legends scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to pull away for a 7-3 victory against the Savannah Sand Gnats on Friday night at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.
Ben Orloff delivered a bases-loaded single that scored Domingo Santana and Mike Kvasnicka. Ben Heath also came home on the play on an error by Gnats right fielder Rafael Fernandez.
Orloff's hit gave the Legends a 7-2 lead.
After falling behind 2-0 in the second inning, Lexington got one back in its half of the fourth. Emilio King singled, Santana doubled and King scored on a sacrifice fly to center by Telvin Nash.
The Legends took the lead for good with two runs in the fifth. Santana drew a bases-loaded walk to score Roberto Pena for the first run. A passed ball by Albert Cordero led to the second.
Lexington's other run came in the sixth. Orloff hit a triple to center, and Bryce Lane followed with a single.
King and Orloff both had two hits for Lexington.
The Legends' Luis Cruz pitched five innings, struck out five, walked four and gave up two unearned runs to get the victory, his fifth of the season.
Gabriel Garcia came on in the sixth and gave up one run, a homer by Dustin Lawley, in 21⁄3 innings. Brian Streilein finished things off with 12⁄3 scoreless innings.
Savannah's Erik Goeddel took the loss after giving up three runs, all earned, on three hits and four walks in 42⁄3 innings.
