The Greensboro Grasshoppers rallied for two runs in the ninth to beat the error-prone Lexington Legends 9-8 Sunday at Greensboro, N.C.
Zach Johnson's three-run homer in the first inning gave the Legends the early lead. Greensboro came back with six runs in the second as the Legends committed three errors, half their total for the game.
RBI singles by Delino DeShields Jr. and Jordan Scott in the fourth, Matt Duffy's two-run single in the seventh and Miles Hamblin's solo homer in the eighth gave Lexington an 8-7 lead.
In the ninth, the Grasshoppers loaded the bases, helped by an error and a walk, to set up Josh Adams' single and Tony Caldwell's walk that gave the hosts the season-opening series, three games to one.
