Luis Ordosgoitti pitched 71⁄3 shutout innings to lead the Lexington Legends to a 4-0 win over the West Virginia Power Wednesday night at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.
Lexington took the lead in the third inning. Catcher Mike Kvasnicka led off with a single, advanced to second on a wild pitch and to third on a groundout. Delino DeShields Jr. pushed a bunt single to the right side of the infield, driving home Kvasnicka.
Kvasnicka is hitting only .185 but had two hits in the game, as did third baseman Matt Duffy, who also drove in two runs.
The Legends added a run in the fourth. Matt Duffy reached second on an error by third baseman Kirk Singer, moved to third on a wild pitch, and scored when Drew Muren hit a sacrifice fly to right field.
The Legends took a 3-0 lead in the fifth when Jordan Scott tripled and scored on a single by Duffy.
The last run came in the seventh inning. With two outs, Zach Johnson, who leads the South Atlantic league in runs batted in, walked and scored when Duffy doubled to left-center.
Ordosgoitti (1-1) allowed just four hits while striking out four batters. Murilo Gouvea finished the eighth inning and Dayan Diaz pitched a scoreless ninth for Lexington.
The Legends hit the road for four games in Hickory, but will be back in Lexington Monday for the first of three game against Augusta.
