Luis Cruz didn't allow a run in seven innings and the Lexington Legends beat the Augusta GreenJackets 6-1 Wednesday night in a South Atlantic League game at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.
Cruz (5-1) gave up seven hits and a walk and he struck out five while lowering his ERA to 2.84.
Since moving into the Legends' rotation on April 22, the 5-foot-9 left-hander from San Juan, Puerto Rico, has allowed more than two runs just once in eight starts.
Lexington took a 1-0 lead in the first. Delino DeShields walked, moved to second on a balk, stole third and came home on Matt Duffy's two-out single to left.

Jesse Wierzbicki tripled and scored on a groundout in the second to make it 2-0.
The Legends broke open the game in the fifth with three runs on Jordan Scott's RBI double and Wierzbicki's two-out, two-run single.
Lexington won the three-game series with Augusta 2-1. The Legends are 17-10 in May to improve to 28-24 overall.
