The Lexington Legends scored three runs in the first three innings and three more in the final two in a 6-2 victory against the host Greensboro Grasshoppers on Friday night.
Legends reliever Murilo Gouvea worked himself into a bit of trouble in the ninth with two strikeouts and three walks, but Carlos Quevedo got Brent Keys to strike out looking to end the late threat.
Lexington's batters combined for 15 hits off four Greensboro pitchers. Third baseman Matt Duffy, who led the team with three hits, knocked in runs with a sacrifice fly in the first and a solo home run in the third.
Delino DeShields Jr., Mike Kvasnicka and James Howick had the Legends' other RBI.
Lexington starter Mike Foltynewicz improved to 8-1 with a 2.07 ERA. He gave up seven hits and had three strikeouts in seven innings. Only one of the two runs he surrendered was earned.
Quevedo's save was his third of the season.
