Mike Kvasnicka became the first Lexington Legends player to hit home runs right-handed and left-handed in the same game, but the Greensboro Grasshoppers pounded out 18 hits and won 13-4 on Sunday in North Carolina.
Greensboro opened up a 10-0 lead before Kvasnicka hit a home run from the right side in the sixth inning off Greensboro starter Adam Conley. Kvasnicka's second home run came off Johnny Omahen in the top of the eighth after Matt Duffy, who was 3-for-3 in the game, singled with two outs.
The Grasshoppers scored single runs in the first and second innings and added another in the third on a solo shot by Josh Adams, his 12th home run of the year.
Greensboro added two more in the fourth on RBI hits by Ryan McIntyre and Austin Barnes. McIntyre was 4-for-6 with five RBI. Barnes drove in three runs, and Wilfredo Gimenez was 4-for-4.
Greensboro pulled away with five runs in the fifth.
Conley (7-2) worked the first six innings and picked up the win.
Lexington starter Luis Cruz (5-3) took the loss. He pitched the first four innings and gave up five runs.
