Jonas Dufek pitched seven strong innings and Zach Johnson drove in two runs as the Lexington Legends defeated the Asheville Tourists 4-1 Saturday night in front of 6,017 fans at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.
Dufek (4-1) allowed just one run on three hits, struck out seven batters and walked two. It was his third straight victory.
Asheville got its only run off Dufek in the second when Jared Simon hit a solo home run over the center-field wall.
Lexington took the lead with two runs in the sixth inning. Mike Kvasnicka's single scored Jay Austin for the tying run. Duffy scored on a high chopper by Brandon Meredith to give the Legends a 2-1 lead.
The Legends added their final two runs in the seventh. Asheville reliever Nelson Gonzalez, who had just entered the game, issued consecutive walks to Chan Jong Moon, Delino DeShields Jr. and Austin, loading the bases. After Kenneth Roberts relieved Gonzalez, Johnson singled to left-center field, driving home Moon and DeShields.
