Mike Kvasnicka drove in seven runs with a grand slam and a three-run home run as the Lexington Legends outslugged the Greenville Drive 13-7 Sunday in South Carolina.
Kvasnicka, a switch-hitter, hit one home run from each side of the plate for the second time this season.
Kvasnicka's first homer, which came batting right-handed, was part of a four-run first inning for the Legends. Delino DeShields Jr. scored on a triple by Ruben Sosa. Greenville starter Henry Owens struck out Zach Johnson and Matt Duffy, but Kvasnicka hit a drive over the 30-foot high left field wall to put the Legends up 4-0.
The Legends added two runs in the second on an RBI single by DeShields and a sacrifice fly by Sosa, and scored two more in the fourth on a double by Ryan McCurdy and a ground out by Sosa.
The Legends added a run in the seventh on a single by Justin Gominsky.
In the top of the eighth, Johnson led off with a single, and Duffy was hit by a pitch for the fifth consecutive game. Meredith singled to load the bases, and Kvasnicka, batting left-handed against reliever Tyler Lockwood, homered to left-center.
