Tips for fans
What to wear and bring
■ Comfortable shoes are a must. The speedway covers a lot of ground, and so will your feet.
■ A fanny pack or small backpack is useful for carrying essentials, keeps your hands free and makes for a light load.
■ Seat cushions are an added comfort during a long night on the hard grandstands.
■ Some additional items for your pre-race checklist:
Race scanner (available for rental at Souvenir Row)
Fans may bring one 14-inch cooler and one carry-in item (i.e. backpack or purse) into the speedway. Coolers may contain unopened plastic bottles or aluminum cans (water or soft drinks) and food. No alcoholic beverages or glass containers are allowed. All coolers and carry-in items will be inspected at the gates.
Animals (except for those assisting people with disabilities)
Balloons or beach balls
Chairs of any kind
Fireworks or missile-like objects
Glass containers of any kind
Noise-making devices (bells, bullhorns, whistles, etc.)
Projectiles of any kind
Seat cushion with metal arm rests
Sticks, bats, poles or clubs
Video or movie cameras
Weapons: guns, knives, mace, handcuffs, nightsticks, blackjacks or other items
Wristbands for children
Children may receive a free wristband at the information and guest services booths around the speedway. The band will help your child be located should you become separated.
■ Arrive early. The highest traffic time is within four hours of the race.
■ Make sure to have a full tank of gas. Getting into and out of the speedway could take more time than you anticipate.
