SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The testy relationship between Sacramento Kings Coach Paul Westphal and rookie center DeMarcus Cousins took another turn Thursday night.
Cousins was benched and fined for making a choking gesture late in Tuesday's loss to the Golden State Warriors. Thursday, in the fourth quarter of an 84-79 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks, Westphal offered a high-five to Cousins, who declined. Westphal grabbed Cousins' hand and said something to him.
When asked to elaborate on the situation, Westphal declined.
"I understand there are a lot of frustrations right now," the coach said. "Who wouldn't be frustrated when you're 5-22?"
