Former University of Kentucky star Randall Cobb caught two short touchdown passes — 1 and 6 yards — from Aaron Rodgers in the Green Bay Packers' come-from-behind 31-24 victory against the New York Jets. The Packers trailed 21-3 early in the second quarter.
"We ... finally started executing the plays as called and made some big plays," Cobb said. "I think the heart and character of this team showed tonight. To get down like that, any team could lay down."
Cobb, who finished with five catches for 39 yards and two carries for six yards, also scored on a two-point conversion.
■ Former Western Kentucky standout Bobby Rainey, subbing for injured Tampa Bay running back Doug Martin, ran for 144 yards on 22 carries in the Bucs' 19-17 loss to the St. Louis Rams. Rainey also caught three passes for 30 yards.
■ Jacob Tamme (Boyle County, UK) scored a touchdown on a 4-yard pass from Peyton Manning in the Denver Broncos' 24-17 win against the Kansas City Chiefs. It was Tamme's ninth career TD catch.
■ Wesley Woodyard (UK) had five tackles in the Tennessee Titans' 26-10 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. The seven-year NFL vet has 10 tackles in two games so far. George Wilson (Paducah Tilghman) added two tackles for Tennessee.
■ Winston Guy Jr. (Lexington Catholic, UK) was second on the Jacksonville Jaguars with seven tackles in a 41-10 loss to the Redskins. Guy Jr., a free safety, also had a quarterback sack, the second of the third-year player's career.
■ Buffalo Bills linebacker Preston Brown, a rookie out of the University of Louisville, had a team-high 13 tackles in the Buffalo Bills' 29-10 victory against the Miami Dolphins. Calvin Pryor, another ex-Cardinal rookie, had five tackles in the Jets' loss to the Packers.
