Three local bowlers ended 2009 with a bang.
Anthony Bowman, Chris Maddox and Don Rickert posted an 800, two 300 games and a 299 last week at Collins-Eastland and Collins-Southland.
Bowman led the way, rolling an 815 in the James R. Wafford Memorial League at Southland on Monday. Bowman ended his series with a 300 after games of 225 and 290.
Rickert, rolling in the same league Monday, tossed a 299 to pace a 793 series.

Maddox rolled a perfect game at Eastland on Tuesday in the TNT League.
Bradley Open coming up
The 31st Bradley Open will start Saturday at 9 a.m.
The scratch singles event features a prize of $4,000 and a paid entry to the 2011 USBC Masters Tournament. The field is open to the first 264 entrants.
Saturday's first-round squads will play at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., with the second round beginning at about 5 p.m. The field will be cut to 40 bowlers for the 9 a.m. Sunday squad and then to eight for the match play finals Sunday afternoon.
Past winners include USBC and PBA Hall of Fame members, and the tournament annually draws top bowlers from the region as well as several pros. So if you would like to see some top-notch bowling, stop by on Saturday or Sunday.
