Erik Thingstad continued his recent success in the James Wafford Memorial League at Southland last week.
Thingstad rolled his second 300 game in two weeks Monday night and a 760 series. He rolled his first 300 on Jan. 25 en route to a 756 series.
Darrel Hunt also had the hot hand Monday night, posting a 300 game to highlight a 792 series.
The Wafford league is named after the late James Wafford, a past president of the Lexington Area Bowling Association and a member of the LABA and Kentucky State Bowling halls of fame.
Never miss a local story.
The league was originally known as the Sportsman's League, and it has been at Southland since the center opened in 1961.
It is the highest-scoring league in town and has produced most of the top scores this season. The league, which has always had a large number of the area's top bowlers, has added talent from other area leagues that folded.
So if you are interested in seeing the area's top bowlers in action, stop by Southland Lanes on Monday nights about 6:30. The chances are good that you will see an honor score or two.
