Morehead State alum Kelly Kulick added another title to her résumé last week. Kulick captured the USBC Queens tournament in El Paso Texas, the second time she has won the prestigious event. Kulick defeated Tennelle Milligan of Arlington, Texas, in the finals 232-188.
The victory was her third major women's title, having also won the Queens in 2007 and the Women's U.S. Open in 2003. Kulick made bowling history in January when she won the PBA Tournament of Champions defeating Chris Barnes 265-195 in the finals. The victory was the first by a woman in a men's major event.
Kulick was a collegiate All-American and woman collegiate bowler of the year while at Morehead and a member of the 2002 women's squad that captured the national championship. Kulick was also the first woman to earn an exemption to compete for a year on the men's national tour without having to bowl in the qualifiers each week.
