Santa Claus brought an early Christmas present to several bowlers this past week as a total of six award scores were recorded.
Leading the way was Michael Mynear with an 847 series on Dec. 19 in the James R. Wafford Memorial League at Collins Bowling Centers-Southland.
Mynear paced his 847 with a 299 game sandwiched between a 279 and a 269. His score is the season's fourth 800 series.
Matt Fitch posted a 300 on Dec. 16 in the Friday Night Fun League at Collins Bowling Centers-Eastland. The score highlighted a 767 series and is Fitch's second career 300 but leaves him a long way from his Hall of Fame father, who has rolled more than 20 with each hand.
Never miss a local story.
Darrell Wallace joined Fitch in the high-score department the same night in the same league, tossing a 299 to pace a 741 series.
Two youth bowlers also had a big week posting perfect games, Hayes Barton at Southland and Zach Schneider at Eastland. They both rolled their scores in the Saturday morning youth leagues on Dec. 17. Schneider's score paced a 795 series and Barton a 702.
