Local keglers continued their assault on the record books this past week, posting an 800 and two perfect games.
Eric Grimes paced the week with an 807 (279-269-259) on Jan. 30 in the James R. Wafford Memorial League at Collins Bowling Centers-Southland. Lexington Area Bowling Association Hall of Famer Bill Carrithers rolled his second 300 of the season that same night in the same league, highlighting a 758 series.
Josh Mitchell posted a 300 in the Wafford League en route to a 745 series. Kenny Hohensee came close on Jan. 26 in the Around Town League with a 299 game, leaving a 10 pin, to lead off a 730 series.
The Lexington 600 Club held its 46th annual 600 Club Tournament last Sunday at Strike Zone Lanes in Nicholasville. The tournament featured a four-game format and was divided into three divisions based on average.

The A division for averages of 180 and above was won by Teri Tucker with an 864 handicapped series. Jean Almaria was second with 808. The B division for averages of 160-179 went to Celia Cooper with an 880 total. Katherine Fain had a 752 for second. Tammy Lynch won the C division for averages of 159 and below, rolling 765.
Tara Short rolled the high game of the event a 255.
