Next week's inaugural Bluegrass Sports Awards banquet will be broadcast live on the Internet on iHigh.com, the Bluegrass Sports Commission said in announcing the partnership Tuesday.
Live coverage from the Griffin Gate Marriott Resort and Spa will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15, and may be accessed at Kentucky.com, WKYT.com and iHigh.com.
The evening will feature four prestigious awards given out as a celebration of achievement in Kentucky sports.
"This is an exciting announcement for us," said Terry Johnson, executive director of the Bluegrass Sports Commission. "To have the inaugural event televised live adds a great deal to the excitement of the evening and will help us truly honor these outstanding individuals."

Tom Hammond, Jim Host, Jerry Carroll and Martha Layne Collins will all be honored during the banquet. The Lexington Herald-Leader will also announce the winner of its Kentucky Sportsman of the Year live for the first time in the 31-year history of the award.
