Brandon Hatton has started off the new season with a bang.
The 19-year-old Hatton, on his first night bowling in the adult leagues, rolled an 805 on games of 290-268-247 in the Friday Night Fun League at Collins Bowling Centers-Eastland on Aug. 10. In the James Wafford Memorial League at Southland on Monday night, he rolled a 300 game en route to a 739 series.
Not a bad way to begin your bowling career.
Hatton was one of the top youth bowlers at Eastland the past few years. This past season he posted a 210 average in the Saturday morning league at Eastland.
Hatton was joined in the 800 club by Randy Johnson, who also rolled an 805 in the Friday Night Fun League on Aug. 17. Johnson posted games of 279-290-236.
Charlie Jason almost made the 300 club in the Wafford League last Monday, falling a pin short and posting a 299.
Last season the first 300 game did not come until Aug. 22, and the first 800 wasn't bowled until Sept. 2.
