What we'll see
Let's hear what Mark Stoops has to say about how he plans to go about fixing the University of Kentucky football program. Many have tried. Few have succeeded. But if fans' optimism upon Stoops' hiring last week is any indication, UK might have the right guy this time. Stoops will share his plans at an introductory news conference. (3 p.m., CWKYT-27.2)
The Cincinnati Bengals (6-5) try to build on their three-game winning streak with their third consecutive opponent from the AFC West. The host San Diego Chargers (4-7) are heading in the opposite direction, having lost three in a row. (4:25 p.m., CBS-27)
Pull yourself away from football for a couple of hours and watch two of America's top women's basketball teams go head to head when No. 7 Louisville hosts No. 9 Kentucky in the KFC Yum Center. The Wildcats are looking for their first win in Louisville since 1999. (6 p.m., ESPNU)
Alabama and Notre Dame already know where they're headed, but the BCS Selection Show will fill in the rest of the blanks for the upcoming college football bowl season. (8:30 p.m., ESPN)
The UK men's basketball team continues to try to work out the kinks with home games against Samford on Tuesday (7 p.m., Fox Sports South) and Portland on Saturday (Noon, ESPN).
The new-look Los Angeles Lakers get their first crack at Oklahoma City since the Thunder knocked them out in last season's NBA Western Conference semifinals. This game will create a lot of excitement but probably won't offer an accurate read on what to expect next spring. The Lakers are still without the injured Steve Nash, are talking about trading Pau Gasol and are feeling their way with new coach Mike D'Antoni. (9:30 p.m., ESPN)
