A pair of intriguing games involving teams from our state highlight the men's college basketball docket. Eastern Kentucky puts its 9-0 record to the test at 11-0 and No. 10-ranked Illinois (6 p.m., ESPNU). Earlier in the day, 8-2 Western Kentucky takes its six-game winning streak to 7-1 Murray State, which has won four in a row. It's the 150th meeting between the two teams. (3 p.m., ESPN3)
The UK women's basketball team arrives on the West Coast for some sun, fun and a pair of non-conference games it should win with little trouble. The Wildcats visit Pepperdine on Tuesday (10 p.m.) and UC Santa Barbara on Friday (6 p.m.).
The Republic Bank Holiday Classic girls' basketball tournament plays out at Lexington Catholic, featuring its traditionally powerful 24-team field. Eleven teams ranked in the coaches' pre-season top 25 will be on hand, including No. 1 Marion County, No. 4 Mercy, No. 5 Owensboro Catholic, No. 6 Assumption, No. 9 Elizabethtown, No. 10 Lincoln Co., No. 14 Anderson Co., No. 19 Louisville Christian, No. 21 Lexington Catholic, No. 22 Ashland Blazer and No. 23 Bowling Green. Marion County and its two UK signees, Makayla Epps and Kyvin Goodin-Rogers, debut Friday at 2 p.m.
Chicago's Jabari Parker, long viewed as the top basketball prospect in the Class of 2013 before the emergence and reclassification of Andrew Wiggins, announces his college choice, which is widely expected to come down to Duke or Michigan State.Saturday

The Kentucky men's basketball team plays its final tune-up game before its Dec. 29 showdown against Louisville when Marshall comes to Rupp Arena. The Thundering Herd roster includes a pair of players familiar to Kentucky high school basketball fans in freshman Tamron Manning from Scott County and junior Elijah Pittman from Holmes.(4 p.m., ESPN2)
