What we'll see
The University of Kentucky softball team, forced to sit on the sidelines since being knocked out in the first round as the host school in last week's Southeastern Conference Tournament, learns its post-season destination. The NCAA Tournament's 64-team field will be revealed during the Softball Selection Show. Kentucky is hoping to be chosen as one of the 16 regional host sites. (10 p.m., ESPNU)
The Andrew Wiggins Watch moves toward its boiling point with an announcement possible at any moment by America's No. 1 high school basketball prospect. The spring signing period ends Wednesday — a deadline for most mortals but possibly not for the 6-foot-7 wing from Huntington (W.Va.) Prep. Still, the vibe in the recruiting world is that this will be the week Kentucky finds out whether its recruiting class is out of this world or out of this universe.
The high school tennis state championships play out at UK's Hilary J. Boone Tennis Center, with team, singles and doubles competition for boys and girls. The singles finals begin at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
The UK men's tennis team, seeded No. 8 overall in the NCAA Tournament, takes on No. 9 Duke in the Sweet 16 at Champaign, Ill. If it's Kentucky vs. Duke — in anything — it has to be compelling, doesn't it? (8 p.m.)
Kentucky's high school track and field state meet unfolds at the University of Louisville's Owsley Frazier Cardinal Park. Class 2A takes the stage Friday (2:30 p.m.). Classes A (8 a.m.) and 3A (3 p.m.) go on Saturday.
Orb attempts to keep alive the dream that, some day, some way, we'll see another Thoroughbred win the Triple Crown. The Kentucky Derby champion goes for the second leg in the 138th Preakness Stakes. (6:20 p.m., NBC-18)
