Darrel Hunt bowled an 804 series in the James R. Wafford Memorial League at Collins Bowling Centers-Southland on April 6.
He rolled games of 279, 279 and 246 for his score, which qualified him for Lexington's inaugural 800/300 roll-off tournament on April 29.
Kyle Gillespie bowled his second perfect game of the season on April 2 in the Strike Force League at Southland.
Joining him in the 300 club were Bryan Gaines and Ron Thompson, who both rolled theirs in the Beltline League at Southland on April 7. The scores qualified both for the roll-off tournament as well.
Never miss a local story.
■ The demise of the 600 Club League — which had been around for more than 30 years — this past year left few opportunities for local high-average female bowlers.
League organizers are trying to bring the league back this fall. This time, the league will bowl at Southland next to the Wafford League, so that the best men and women will compete at the same time.
The goal is eight four-member squads, and the league will be a scratch league. To qualify, a female bowler must have rolled a sanctioned 600 in another league.
The league will have a meeting on May 6 at Southland. Organizers will be on hand to explain the league and refreshments will be served. For more information, call Southland at (859) 277-5746.
