Melinda Craig earned the Greater Lexington USBC's women's high average award for the 19th time in the past 20 years. She averaged 219 in the New Circle League at Collins Bowling Centers-Eastland. Craig also shared the women's high series award with Lena Hill after both rolled 759s.
On the men's side, the high series award went to Phillip Kraft and Cameron Ewert, who both rolled 835s. The men's high average award was earned by Eric Grimes with a 232 in the James R. Wafford Memorial League at Southland. It is the fourth time Grimes earned the award — his first since the 1998-99 season.
The winners of the senior high average awards, for those over 50, were Becky Flora for the women with 197, and Charles Shepherd for the men with 205. Both bowl at Eastland.
The youth high average for girls was a tie at 201 by Courtney Wooldridge at Southland and Sarah Doyle at Eastland. The boys' high average winner was Jacob Yazell with a 223 at Eastland.
The Greater Lexington USBC awarded its Julie Whitaker Memorial Award to Jean Southern. She was recognized for more than 30 years of service on the group's board, and for more than 20 on the seniors' board.
