Competition for football recruits in Kentucky about to turn red-hot

With Kentuckians Jeff Brohm coaching at Purdue and Joker Phillips at Cincinnati, this may well be the best time ever to be an aspiring FBS football player from the state of Kentucky. Yet this could become a challenging time to be an in-state recruiter at the commonwealth’s three Football Bowl Subdivision schools — Kentucky, Louisville and Western Kentucky.

UK’s Drake Jackson eager to join buddies Young, Daniel on the field

Drake Jackson, Landon Young and Kash Daniel were the Three Musketeers of the Kentucky Wildcats’ 2016 recruiting class, three in-state stars who said no to a Who’s Who of traditional college football titans. However, where Young and Daniel both contributed to UK’s 7-5 record as true freshmen, Jackson got caught in a depth crunch and was redshirted.
