Kentucky’s Deputy Athletics Director DeWayne Peevy is one of the finalists under consideration to replace the retiring George O’Leary as athletics director at Central Florida, the Orlando Sentinel is reporting.
An excerpt from the Sentinel:
Peevy came to UK from the Southeastern Conference office in 2008. He was promoted to deputy athletics director in 2013.
Eric Lindsey, UK’s associate director of media relations, said that the school had no comment on the Orlando Sentinel’s report.
Mitch Barnhart, Kentucky’s athletics director, has seen several of his former assistants go on to AD jobs at other schools including Greg Byrne at Arizona; Scott Stricklin at Mississippi State; Rob Mullens at Oregon and Mark Coyle at Syracuse.
