NBC’s College Basketball Talk updated its pre-season Top 25, which also has Duke at No. 1, with Kentucky at No. 2, Kansas at No. 3 and Villanova at No. 4.
Meanwhile, Matt Norlander of CBS Sports says Oregon is now a title contender thanks to the fact two important Ducks pulled out of the draft and will return to Eugene. Dillon Brooks and Tyler Dorsey are both returning.
“This puts Oregon in the hunt for the Pac-12 title once again,” writes Norlander. “Dana Altman’s team earned a No. 1 seed last season, going 31-7 and losing in the Elite Eight to Buddy Hield and Oklahoma. Brooks averaged 16.7 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.1 assists. Dorsey had a 13.4-point, 4.3-rebound and 2.0-assist clip as a freshman.”
