Pikeville women win Ohio bowling tourney

The Pikeville College women's bowling team, the defending national champion, captured the Raider Classic in Beavercreek, Ohio, last weekend.

Pikeville topped a field of 12 schools, defeating Martin Methodist in the finals.

Pikeville's men finished second in the event to Saginaw Valley State.

The Bears placed two bowlers on the all-tournament team: R.J. Kern and Jeremy King.

The Pikeville women took five of six all-tournament spots: Kim Yioulos, Natasha Martin, Lauren Stoffel, Erica Anderson and Emily Witt.

The USBC Intercollegiate Bowling Championships will be held in April in Rockford, Ill., pitting the top 16 men's and women's teams.

e_SBlt Jody Wafford had a big night Tuesday, rolling an 803 at Collins Bowling Centers-Southland. Wafford posted games of 290-289-224 in the Beltline league.
