October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and we want to give you something to "pink" about. We are living in a world where practically any person you meet has in some way been touched by the effects of cancer. Many of those stories involve breast cancer; my own mother battled (and survived) it, and so have many other brave, strong women. As females we can never bring enough attention to how important awareness on the illness truly is. One way to do that is through shopping. Yes, shopping! A favorite past time of many of us ladies can now also be a great way to help raise money for a fantastic cause. Whether buying these products for yourself or helping a fellow woman who might be going through treatment, we can help make a difference by simply researching companies that help contribute to the pink cause. We are making the scouting process a little easier by sharing with you a variety of our favorite items that donate a profit of their sales to Breast Cancer research. Many of our selections are of the beauty variety, a few favorites and staples that have been especially redesigned with a touch of pink awareness.
One of the best moisturizers in the beauty game, Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion, has prettied up their usual packaging. A special edition bottle adorned with a signature pink ribbon key chain in support of breast cancer awareness is now available for purchase. Renowned makeup artist and Target sensation Sonia Kashuk is offering a set of her best-selling brushes in "Proudly Pink" packaging. The 5-piece set retails for under $20 and even comes with a cute little makeup bag to store your brushes.
As for clothing and accessories, the pink power is going strong. Popular shoe brand ASICS is producing a special design of their FuseX shoe. The limited edition Pink Ribbon version is designed in collaboration with a charitable program of the New Venture Fund, which helps provide screening assistance to women with increased risk for breast cancer. From Aug. 1 through Nov. 30, 2016, ASICS will donate $10 for each pair purchased to Christina Applegate’s Right Action for Women. Now that’s what we call fashion with a cause.
The North Face Company has teamed up with Boarding For Breast Cancer and other organizations like it, to create a satin-nylon vest that’s insulated with 550-fill down and features diamond-shaped baffles for a sleek, stylish appearance. It's finished with a pink ribbon to represent the cause. This item would be especially great for all of you ladies who like to participate in marathons. You can be stylish and raise awareness through one little vest.
We even managed to find something for Halloween. This pink ribbon costume promises to be quite the conversation starter at parties, and it’s an excellent way to represent someone in your life who has dealt with breast cancer, or simply a way to show your support for the cause.
Whether you are shopping for cosmetics, clothing and accessories, or even costumes, just know that you can do it all for a great cause. And we hope after reading this you will "pink" twice about what you choose.
