Festival is for and about the birds

Red Lick, round 2
The Red Lick Artisans Spring Studio Tour is a self-guided driving tour of working artists' studios clustered in the beautiful "Knobs" area of Red Lick Valley straddling Madison and Estill counties. Because of the success of last year's inaugural event, the Red Lick Artisans have expanded the 2015 Spring Studio tour to two days for the entire Mother's Day weekend, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sat. and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Mayfest in Gratz Park
An annual Mothers Day event, Mayfest returns to Gratz Park in downtown Lexington this weekend with music, dance, art, food, crafts and much more between the Carnegie Center and Transylvania University. Festival times are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday.
