Writer, editor and philanthropist Sallie Bingham will be the featured guest at the Kentucky Women Writers Conference in September.
Bingham has 10 books to her credit, the latest of which is Red Car, a short story collection. She has also been the books editor of The Courier-Journal of Louisville and national literary journals. Bingham, a longtime supporter of the conference and founder of the Kentucky Foundation for Women, will speak at the conference's luncheon Sept. 11 at Portofino and teach a memoir workshop.
Also speaking and teaching at the conference, Sept. 10 to 12, will be Elizabeth Alexander, Jenny Bent, Nikky Finney, Honorée Fanonne Jeffers, Holly Goddard Jones, Rachel McKibbens, Gina McCauley, Christine Schutt and Susan Vreeland.
