Thunder and fireworks over Louisville

The Derby City goes boom on Saturday with Thunder Over Louisville. The air show featuring fly-overs by jets and other aircraft starts at 3 p.m. downtown. Fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m. The Chow Wagon and Meijer Family Fun Zone open at 11 a.m. at The Belvedere. Go to Thunderoverlouisville.org for more info.

Kites take flight (fingers crossed)

Kites will fill the air over Jacobson Park on Saturday at the annual Kite Fest. From noon to 4 p.m. free activities will include kite making and flying and children's games. Food and beverages will be sold throughout the day.fans of 'sing off,' take note
