Rupp Arena announced its second major Latin music booking of the year Monday morning with word that Ozuna will bring his "Aura USA Tour 2018" to Lexington on Dec. 16.

This booking follows the announcement earlier this year that Latin trap star Bad Bunny will play Rupp Nov. 11. (That show was originally announced for Sept. 22 and subsequently rescheduled.) Like Bunny, Ozuna has not topped the pop charts in the United States yet, but he has been dominant on Billboard magazine Latin charts and sells out concerts around the world. He has more than 16 million subscribers on YouTube and 19 million followers on Spotify, where several tracks top 300 million listens.

In April, he was named Artist of the Year at the Billboard Latin Music Awards, and in May, he was named top Latin artist at the Billboard Music Awards. Among his high-profile collaborators are Daddy Yankee, Cardi B and the aforementioned Bad Bunny.

Ozuna was born in San Juan in 1992 and primarily raised by his paternal grandmother before he went to college in New York City. He started his music career in 2012, initially under the name J Oz. His big breakthrough in the Latin music market was 2016 with several high-profile singles, including "No Quiere Enamorarse", featuring Daddy Yankee. He released his debut album, "Odisea" in 2017, and his follow-up, "Aura," is due in August.

Tickets for the the Dec. 16 Rupp show, which appears to be the Aura tour finale, are $42.50 to $142.50 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, July 6 at the Lexington Center Ticket Office, Rupparena.com and 859-233-3535.
