Steve Martin is bringing his bluegrass act back to The Bluegrass, and this time, he’ll have company.

Comedian Martin Short will join Martin at Rupp Arena Jan. 11, along with Steep Canyon Rangers, the acclaimed bluegrass band the “Wild and Crazy Guy” has been touring and recording with the last decade.

The “Now You See Them, Soon You Won’t” tour is billed as an evening of “stand-up, musical numbers, film clips and conversations about their (Martin and Short’s) show business experiences,” according to the show announcement from Rupp. Reviews of previous Martin-Short-Rangers tours make the evening sound like a big ol’ variety show and are uniformly positive.

Martin and the Rangers last came to Lexington together in June 2011 for a Lexington Opera House show that sold out quickly. Martin and Short’s ongoing tour visited Cincinnati’s Riverbend earlier this year.

Tickets for this Rupp Arena date are $69 to $250 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at the Lexington Center Ticket Office, all Ticketmaster outlets, by calling 859-233-3535 or visiting rupparena.com.
