We still have a whole basketball season to go before the Lexington Comic & Toy Convention, but the annual event has already landed some marquee celebs, including a bona fide movie star.

Val Kilmer — known for one turn as the Dark Knight in 1995’s “Batman Forever,” as Iceman in “Top Gun,” Jim Morrison in “The Doors” and many more roles — was announced Friday afternoon as a guest at the March 21-24 pop culture extravaganza. He joins “Beauty and the Beast,” “Hellboy” and “Sons of Anarchy” star Ron Perlman and the voice of SpongeBob SquarePants and other animated characters Tom Kenny — not to be confused with WTVQ anchor Tom Kenny — as the announced guests so far for this year’s ComicCon.

Tickets are set to go on sale Monday at the ComicCon website.

With coming construction at Lexington Center, where the convention is held, the event has expanded to four days, and there will be some logistical changes. Watch for more on that, next week.

After years of delays, ground was broken Thursday on the extensive renovation and expansion of the Lexington Convention Center and Rupp Arena that will take three years to complete.
