Janet Jackson’s Unbreakable Tour, including its Jan. 30 stop at Rupp Arena, has been postponed due to vocal surgery.
Dec. 24, the singer posted on her Twitter account, “I learned today, from my doctors that I must have surgery soon. It breaks my heart to tell you that I am forced to postpone the Unbreakable Tour until the spring. Every date will be rescheduled. Please hold on to your tickets. They will be honored in a special way when the new schedule is announced.”
Rupp Arena spokesperson Sheila Kenny confirmed Monday that patrons should hold onto their tickets and a new date will be announced soon.
Jackson previously played Rupp Arena in July 2001. A scheduled July 1990 date was canceled due to illness and never rescheduled. The next concert slated for Rupp is country star Brantley Gilbert, Jan. 29.
