Best Bets: The State Fair tops a diverse bill

It's all at the state fair

Corn dogs, livestock shows, concerts, a midway and more await you at the Kentucky State Fair at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville. Gates open at 7 a.m. daily through Aug. 24. Tickets are $10 for adults, $6 ages 3-12 and seniors. Go to Kystatefair.org for more info.

Days of the pioneers

Head to Harrodsburg for the Pioneer Days Festival featuring live music, arts and crafts and food. It's Friday through Sunday at Old Fort Harrod State Park, 100 South College Street. Go to Parks.ky.gov for more info.

Brunch on Sunday

The Chamber Music Festival opened Thursday and continues through Aug. 24. This weekend, the festival's ensemble-in-residence, WyndSync, performs at a concert and fundraiser, 11 a.m. Sunday at the Greentree Tearoom, 521 West Short Street. Saturday night satire
