Best Bets: Bluegrass Opera, Etta May and croquet

White attire is preferred for an afternoon of croquet at Ashland, the Henry Clay Estate. Teams are invited to compete 1 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday on the lawn of the historic home at 120 Sycamore Road. The Bluegrass Opera presents The Mothers of Ludlow. The work, with music by Paul Boesing and libretto by Martha Boesing, tells the true story of the 1914 Ludlow coal mine strike.
