The University of Kentucky staged a clean sweep in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Kentucky District Auditions on Saturday at UK's Memorial Hall.

The winners were Rebecca Farley, Matthew Turner and Christopher Kenny, who will advance to the regional round of the auditions at the same location on Feb. 15.

The winner of that round will advance to the national semifinals on the stage of the Metropolitan Opera in New York.

Gail Robinson encouragement award recipients, who received cash prizes but will not advance in the competition, were Mary Catherine Wright, Shareese Arnold and Jonathan Parham.
