HARRODSBURG — Saturday night's performance of the Chamber Music Festival of the Bluegrass played to a sold-out crowd of more than 400 people and cameras from the TV series Live from Lincoln Center in the Meadow View Barn at the Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill.
It was the first time the 40-year-old series, shown on PBS, shot outside the confines of the Lincoln Center campus in New York City.
The musicians for the 9-year-old festival are from the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, led by artistic directors Wu Han and David Finckel. The performance included a chamber orchestra version of Aaron Copland's Appalachian Spring. Han told the audience that the Live from Lincoln Center based on Saturday's performance will be shown next spring.
