Danville theater to host contest for 10-minute plays

If you're a writer who isn't ready to create a full-length play, a contest at West T. Hill Community Theatre in Danville might be your chance to get your work on the stage.

The theater's 10-Minute Play Contest will award six playwrights $100 and will produce their plays.

The play requirements:

■ They must be no more than 10 typewritten pages in standard playscript format (not including character names and descriptions and title/cover page).

■ They must have a removable cover sheet with name, address and contact information. The author's name should be only on this top sheet.

■ There should be no more than 10 characters.

■ There should be minimal set requirements, simple props and costuming.

■ No author may submit more than three plays.

The deadline for submission is 6 p.m. June 15.

Send three copies of each play to: West T. Hill Community Theatre, Attention: Karen L. Logue, P.O. Box 841, Danville, Ky. 40423.

The six winning plays will be produced Sept. 24-27. Auditions and readings for actors will be at 6:30 p.m. July 20 and 21.
